tapping touchpad how to disable?

I am using ubuntu linux 10.10 and want to disable tapping in touchpad. Please let me know step by step instruction as I am newbie here. please help me.

- Open the System Settings and select "Mouse and Touchpad" (if you are using Ubuntu 10.10, you can get there via System -> Preferences -> Mouse);
- Select the "Touchpad" tab;
- Uncheck the "Enable mouse clicks with touchpad" box.

This should solve your problem.

Hello Dmitry,

I am using Ubuntu Linux 10.10. I can see mouse setting in System -> Preferences -> Mouse

But there is no any touchpad tab show there. Please let me know for further.

Hm, you are probably experiencing bug 606238 or something like that... Anyway, since I've converted your bug into a question, I hope it'll get answered by someone.
