Different background pictures

Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 7.10, is it possible to use different pictures on different desktops, when I try, all desktops change to that new picture.

You can use mybackground-properties to do this.

Hi Murat Günes, thank you, I did download the file but I still have to learn everything about Linux including what to do with the file. It's a feature I do like but it's not vital so I'll forget it for now. I do enjoy Ubuntu very much, I'm getting confortable with it, I can do almost everything with it that I do with Windows.

Looks like it's a source tarball that you have to compile; I hadn't noticed that. As a new user you may not be comfortable with compiling applications. I discovered an alternative that has a .deb package:

Thank you Murat, with this last link it took me about 2 minutes to install it. You're right the only tar I know is for roofing. I'm retired and I have a lot of time to learn my way around with graphics but I'm on a pass due date to learn commands.
