"gnome-control-center" errors

Asked by coljohnhannibalsmith

Hello,

I get the following error messages in Terminal when launching
"gnome-control-center:"

sophie@sophie-laptop:~$ gnome-control-center

** (gnome-control-center:22751): WARNING **:
error raised: [libslab_get_gconf_value: error getting /desktop/gnome/applications/main-menu/lock-down/user_modifiable_apps]

** (gnome-control-center:22751): WARNING **:
error raised: [load_xbel_store: couldn't load bookmark file [NULL]
]

** (gnome-control-center:22751): WARNING **: get_actions_list() - PROBLEM - Can't load gtk-theme-selector.desktop

** (gnome-control-center:22751): WARNING **: get_actions_list() - PROBLEM - Can't load gnome-cups-manager.desktop

Does anyone know what this means or what I should do about it?

Thanks, Hannibal __________________

Hi i have a similar problem when i tried to keep my Gnome Do Dock working but i think its also interfered with the Gnome control center as i downloaded Gnome do from my software center.You may have some additional software like myself thats causing the gnome control center problems.Half of Gnome Do has failed on my computer have deleted the key ring after full deletion for a Gnome Do re-installation and the keyring has gone missing permanently.The software center is now only offering me an upgrade so i cannot do a deletion for it !

Heres my output :~$ gnome-control-center

** (gnome-control-center:2034): WARNING **:
error raised: [libslab_get_gconf_value: error getting /desktop/gnome/applications/main-menu/lock-down/user_modifiable_apps]

** (gnome-control-center:2034): WARNING **:
error raised: [load_xbel_store: couldn't load bookmark file [NULL]
]

** (gnome-control-center:2034): WARNING **: get_actions_list() - PROBLEM - Can't load gtk-theme-selector.desktop

** (gnome-control-center:2034): WARNING **: get_actions_list() - PROBLEM - Can't load gnome-cups-manager.desktop

Think it could be some other software as in my experience good luck.

This problem still exists and have not been accessing my comp for a couple of weeks please can you re-open this problem because my gnome control center is bugged by Gnome Do at the moment and the software or updates are conflicting.
Please keep this open.
