How is this a support request?

So please explain me how to properly inform package maintainers about new upstream releases and how to associate the upstream source with the package (HCT status). I found support request as an only option but I didn't mean to abuse it. If there is a better way to do this, please let me know.

You file a bug asking for a UVF exception against the package you want updated.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/UVFStatus, I doubt this will be fixed as GNOME commander is not used very often, and Dapper is release in a few days.

Hi. Support is not appropriate for informing package developers. You should rather open a bug. It would be nice if you could check (generally speaking now) if its somewhere in Debian as well, since then it can be synced directly from Debian.

By the way, I know you weren't offended, I just want to clarify that I tried not to be rude but couldn't think of a better way to put it :) Thanks!

Thanks for the explanations. I have quit using support request for upstream changes notification.
