Would it be possible to add a setting to hide the conversion line?

Asked by Teemu Leisti

I very much like gnome-calculator otherwise, but the automatic conversion in the advanced mode is an annoyance. The automatically changing updates are a small distraction. Also, at least while inputting the first few digits, this causes the calculator window to widen automatically, which is a big distraction. So, would it be possible to add a simple on-off setting to the Settings dialog for hiding the conversion feature altogether?

If no one else is willing to do it, I could try my hand at it, if given a couple of pointers to how to start.
