Desktop integration

Asked by Mathieu Dubois

By default project files (*.gpr) are not associated with GPS so every user has to do the association.

I have written a mime type and .desktop file for project files. Those files can be installed on the system database making the association for every user.

I think such files could be integrated in the package and installed by default.

You could log a bug with your solution

Hello,

Why not? But in the "open a bug" section I don't see how to attach files.

Do I have to copy & paste them?

To log a bug, first read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs carefully.

You do not have to copy and paste the contents of files into bug reports. Unlike questions, bug reports on Launchpad fully support attachments.

To attach a file to a bug while initially reporting it, expand the green "Extra options" link, which appears below the big text box where you type your bug report, and also below the bug reporting guidelines.

To attach a file to a bug after completing the initial report, use the "Add attachment" link in the "Bug attachments" box on the right, which is under the box which lists the bug's subscribers and other notified parties. Alternatively and equivalently, you can click the "Add attachment or patch" link on the left side of the screen, pretty near the bottom. That link is just below the big text box where you can type comments.

After you have filed your bug report, you can link it and this question to one another by using the "Link existing bug" link at the top of this question. However, your bug report should be self-contained; the developers should not have to refer to this question in order to understand and appreciate your bug.
