gmameui I need help

Asked by Derrick Matthews

okay so I downloaded gmameui via the Ubuntu software center, I put my original mame that I was using before I did the switch to Ubuntu 10.10 from windows 7starter (last week yep I'm a newbie) on my flash drive, downloading a newer mame would end up in the roms not being compatible, so in gmameui you have to get a mame exe which I did, but for some reason it didn't let it run, so I downloaded the newer mame 0.141 and that didn't work I would choose it but the exe path would still be empty, I have a lot of games and I would like to keep using my version of mame(mameuifx32/ plus I would like to run my CPS3 emulator as well can somebody please help me fix this issue

So why mention mame exe? That sounds like a windows file.

Try these frontends:

I found out the solution to the problem via searching another forum, okay anybody out there that was having this same issue as far as Ubuntu 10.10 goes here are easy instructions, simply go to the Ubuntu Software Center, type in mame, on gmameui frontend click on more info and only check the dummy package(sdlmame) now in mame front end go to options and directories, on exe browse go to system go to usr/games/mame, now pic a directory for your roms and rebuild the list now double click and enjoy
