Glade 3 Interface Designer Does not Save/Load Properly (Major Bug)

Asked by aidave

Binary package hint: glade-3

Install glade3, then create a new form.

Save it, close it, then open it.

It will be a squished mess.

How can such a fundamental feature be so messed up?
It is because of frustration like this that developers give up and go to MS.

Here is an example. However keep in mind that EVERY file I've created with glade3 does not work.
I've only done the most basic of all tasks with it.

This is supposed to have a menu on top, status bar on bottom, and a treeview and text view split in the middle.

But when I open it, its just a mash of crap. #$%#$(*%

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs. You might also find some help in the Community help forums: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/webforums.

When I open your glade file in Glade 3.4.5 (Ubuntu 8.10) everything seems to be fine, see http://www.florian-diesch.de/tmp/treeframe3.png
Could you please provide a screenshot of what you get?

Can you help with this problem?
