When will gjs 1.53 be backported?

Asked by Balazs Pere

Ubuntu 18.04 contains gjs 1.52, which has some memory leak bugs. (see Bug 1672297) As I know the version 1.53, which was released for cosmic, fixed this issue. When will be this fix backported to bionic? Bionic is an LTS release, so I think it must be free of such bugs. My up-to-date bionic system suffers from this bug, gnome-shell uses more and more memory as time passes. Yesterday gnome-shell used more than 400MB (beginning from ~190MB) while there were not any running apps.

There may be a PPA here. Remember to filter for your release of Ubuntu. Add yourself as affected by the bug too. More votes makes it more likely to be resolved sooner due to affecting more users
