New gitg 0.2.0 needs packaging

Asked by Christoph Buchner

Don't know if this is the correct way to report this, but the current version of gitg is 0.2.0, while the version in Ubuntu (and Debian) is 0.6.0-3, more than a year old! It would be nice if someone could package 0.2.0 and if it would get into Natty (or at least a PPA)!

Log a bug stating what bug fixes and security benefits it gives and it will be considered. Keep your eye on:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=gitg

And someone may build it.

Ok, just filed a bug. Funny, initially I was discouraged by the bug guidelines to report it as a bug, and made it a question instead.

btw, nice method of searching PPA's, didn't know that. Amit's and pasgui's PPA's seem to be most up-to-date (0.0.8)

Use the same link to find other PPAs if you need newer versions of other packages :)
