Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx: Gimp

Asked by Pako

Whether the upcoming ALFAS and BETAS will include preinstalled GIMP, so that people will be able to test and report bugs, because if not, it means that newer users will doesn't know that even exists such a program?

Lucid will not install GIMP in a fresh install, but if you upgrade from Karmic and already have GIMP installed it won't remove it. You can still install GIMP in Lucid and check for bugs.

There's discussion about making a category in Software Center for "Staff Favorites" or similar, where the GIMP will go along with other recommended software. Users should have a good chance of finding it.
