rgb.txt used by giftrans ?

Asked by draco

Hello,
I have seen that the dependencies of giftrans are changing frequently in order to keep the file rgb.txt on the system.

After a research on LP on duplicate bugs of bug #300935 , I saw the changelog of your project.
Is there an impact on giftrans since the file /etc/X11/rgb.txt has been removed from Intrepid and Jaunty ?

Thank you for answering me.

Well, this is a general Ubuntu questions forum, so the chances are pretty slim that somebody responsible for the giftrans package and/or software will read this. Your best option is probably to post this question to the ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list. Hopefully, this will also spawn a useful discussion about re-including rgb.txt in the distribution, and where to place it (file location, package).

PS: For some reason my rgb.txt is still there, but on a clean system the current giftrans should be broken complaining about a missing /etc/X11/rgb.txt. The current binary references /etc/X11/rgb.txt.

Can you help with this problem?
