I suggest you report a bug. If the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later

apparently unmaintained in Debian (FTBFS for a long time), depends on gnat-4.4 which is due to be removed; LP: #986096

I just built it from sources from here https://github.com/tgingold/ghdl, so a deb package would be cool.
