Feature Request - Replace with Exclude

Asked by Clem

Hi All, I wanted to ask the developers if they could create a Replace with an Exclude box for character exclusion. I recently tried to edit a csv file in gedit, but I could not edit it properly because it didn't have an exclude box for certain characters. It was a comma delimited csv file with commas within the double quotations. It changed all the commas to a pipe, but I only wanted it to change the ones outside of the quotations not all of them. So I would have input in the Exclude box..."," and all the commas inside of the quotations would have been skipped over. I couldn't use a shopping cart, because I couldn't change the csv file. If this is not the site for feature requests then please give it to me via an answer, and I will forward the request there. Thanks for your help! Sincerely, Clem

Hi Clem,

Feature requests on gedit should go to the GNOME bug tracker at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ as this is the place where development on gedit is done.

Thank you,
dennis
