Asked by mouseface99

Hi all~

I've just installed 9.10 on my desktop.

and I've met some problems with keyboard.

it's been occur in gedit and Eclipse 3.5 as followed

when I use some keyboard combined shortcut as Ctrl + w to close current window or Ctrl + c/v to copy, parse

after that, my keyboard will goes malfunction with typing and 4 way UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT

but switch application function (ALT + tab) is still working.

and after I try to switch between applications, and back to Eclipse or gedit, than the typing function will work again.

but if I keep trying to use some combined shortcut, it will happened again...

I've been try to switch different keyboard (PS2/USB) or different desktop environment (GNOME/KDE/Xfce)

and this issue are all happened...

dose anyone have any thought about it ?

thanks.

Not able to reproduce it here.

Wild speculations.
Is there a possibility of some conflicting shortcuts or initializing keys?
Disabling visual effects or rather don't run Compiz at all.
How about logfiles, such as syslog, dmesg, Xorg.0.log, .xsession-errors
System preferences -> mouse
Disable 'show cursor position if ctrl is pressed'.

Hi Sam

thanks for your kindly help and suggestion.

I've been tried to turn all visual effects and remove Compiz

and this problem still occurs.

but I've reinstall OS using 9.10 again,

but ignore all suggest updated.

and it's normal now.

I'm not sure weather some of updates may have cause this situation.

anyway, thanks a lot.
