autoindentation with gedit

HI,
I would like use gedit as editor for Octave.
But gedit dont allow the autoindentation code.
Is it a bug ?
How I can to do ?

Gedit does support automatic indentation. You can enable it from the preferences panel.
    Menu > Edit > Preferences > Editor tab > [x] Enable automatic indentation.

You may also want to enable the Indent Lines plugin so that you can indent a selected block
    Menu > Edit > Preferences > Plugins tab > [x] Indent Lines
