Can gedit highlight files automatically?

Is it possible to let gedit highlight file automatically by the extension?
It is very inconvenient to select highlight mode everytime.

Thank you very much!
I added '<glob pattern="*.f"/>' in my "freedesktop.org.xml" file, then it worked well for fortran files.
But it's very strange. In this file, it has had '<glob pattern="*.[fF]"/>' before my change. But Gedit cannot identify my *.f files except adding '<glob pattern="*.f"/>'.
