change key bindings

Asked by Patrick Byrne

Hi,

I would like to change the keybindings within gedit. Is this currently possible, please?

I note that keybindings are not currently exposed in gconf-edit.

The Gedit developers prefer to honour the default behaviour of GNOME--enable 'Editable menu shortcut keys' located in the GNOME interface section. For Ubuntu Gutsy and Hardy, that can be found at Menu > System > Preferences > Appearance > Interface tab.

While the using the menu you can select the item using the keyboard. Press the desired combination of keys to set the new shortcut.

This doesn't however work with ctrl+k and ctrl+d for some reason. ctrl+k always brings up search even if the menu shortcut is changed and ctrl+d seems to delete a line no matter what.
