where are tools saved in new gedit

Asked by Doug McNutt

$HOME/.gnome2/gedit/tools/

Doesn't seem to work anymore. Where are the new data located? How do I get my old perl tools to work in the new version?

The External Tools plugin is installed but where are the details? The environment variables? Have they changed?

The manage external tools window doesn't accept typing. I just see a numeral 1 in the upper left corner.

In the past I could write perl and put the result in $HOME/.gnome2/gedit/tools/ and restart gedit. Not anymore.

Gedit 3 stores tools in ~/.config/gedit/tools. I believe you can copy the tools there.
