Yahoo Messenger is quite poor. The downloadable .deb did not work for me. Using alien which converts .rpm to .deb enabled me to use the Redhat version. Follow the instructions at http://go.bizkomm.com/computers/ubuntu_linux_tips_and_tricks/77/installing-yahoo-messenger-in-ubuntu/

You do not say why you want to leave Gyache and go to Yahoo Messenger. I prefer Kopete for video, although Simple-IM is a more robust program

hello sir,
i m installing ubuntu in my laptop but the main problem is i cant hear the audio file sand i cant able to play the video on it.so plz helpme wht can do and also tell me that how can i run the xp and ubuntu simultaneously.
