My computer won't let me download my microsoft

Asked by Molly Brown

The program says that the setup for Microsoft should appear when it is put into the computer. The computer isn't doing anything. In fact, I can't figure out if I can get it to download manually or not. It doesn't give a clear direction of what to do. Will the computer let me download it or not? if so how?

Molly,

Specifically what Microsoft software are you trying to install?

Go to http://www.winehq.org/ and search for the software you are trying to install, it may or may not be worth your time to try - check the site first.

Generally, you should try and find Linux alternatives to the MS programs you previously used; however there is something called wine that will allow you to run "some" MS programs on your linux system. Thus the link above to the winehq site!

Best of luck,
George
