auto complete not working

ubuntu 11.10
gedit 3.2.3
gedit-latex-plugin 3.3.1-1~oneiric1

trying to achieve - get auto complete to work.
steps I took - typ "\" select something from the list then press enter
what happend - I get an empty new line
what I thought would happend - I would get the selected command on the line and be one space after it.

ex.
type "\n" get the list, select "\newpage", press enter then there should appear a "\newpage" where I started to type "\n".

Am I missing something?

It seems like the plugin "snippets" where active and it simply breaks autocomplete.
Sorry, I should have disabled all plugins and done more testing before asking a question.
Hope this information helps someoneelse.
