Import Emails into Geary

How do you import emails into Geary from other Email programs?

I have been using Evolution which stores the files in mbox format - what format does Geary use?

Geary uses a SQLite database. I don't think Geary supports local folders, so you'll have to copy you local database on your IMAP server with Evolution in order to be able to read them in Geary.
