Override toolbar icons?

Hey! I would like to ask if there's any way to override the toolbar icons (the ones that came with geary, eg. edit-mark.svg) in geary with a normal icon theme? (So not manually replacing the files in /usr/share/geary/icons) If so, what category should they be in? (I guessed actions, but adding an icon to the actions/24 of my icon theme with the name edit-mark.png did not seem to do the trick.)

I suggest you contact the Geany guys directly. They may be able to advise.
