How do I change the Backround in the gdm3 greeter

Asked by Nico

Hi Guys,

as you can see above I wanted to change the Background in the gdm3 greeter. In '/etc/gdm3/greeter.dconf-defaults' there is no option to do this. And also in gsettings there is no Key for this, only thing I found was with gsettings com.ubuntu.login-screen background-picture-uri. With gsettings get it returned the Value ' ', so I changed it to 'file:///some/path' , but this changed nothing except the Value of the key. Any tips here how to do this properly? Thanks in advance.

I think you can change the background using gdm-settings.

How to install gdm-settings: https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2023/10/install-gdm-settings-ubuntu-22-04/
How to Customize Login Screen: https://itsfoss.com/customize-gdm-login/

Can you help with this problem?
