Internal display stucks on 'Starting bpfilter' when using external GPU
I have a laptop with an Intel iGpu and an nvidia card in a eGpu case. After boot I only get the internal display, the thunderbolt device connects and after logout the output switches to the external display. The internal display gets stuck on 'Starting bpfilter' message and does not react any further. (Except when using Ctrl+Alt+F1-6 to switch terminals. Then is displays cli login that keeps being shown after Ctrl+Alt+F7.)
The system is 19.04 upgraded recently from 18.04 upgraded earlier from 17.10. I've uncommented WaylandEnable=false already.
I'm using nvidia-drivers-390 as there is a problem with 430 that makes the cursor move with a 1s lag.
I would expect to be able to use both displays at the same time when eGpu is connected.
I'm willing to dig deeper but I have to idea where to start.
What output/logs do you need to debug this? Where would be the right place to start a bug?
I'm also interested in eGpu support in general - is there any chance to get hot-plug/unplug on Linux?
Thanks
