The 'Login Window' tool seems to be missing and gdm is installed. (Ubuntu 9.1)

Asked by pOok

I have Ubuntu 9.10. I am attempting to customize my login screen. I have been trolling the forums for over 8 hours in vein, it seems. Most of the forums point toward a tool called 'Login Window' which can be found by-way-of 'System > Admin > Login Window'. However, it is not there, even after re-installing gdm (I read that gdm contains 'Login Window'). Also, I tried 'Edit Menus' just to see if it just happened to be unchecked...sadly it is not there either. I am too novice to work with command line. Any ideas?

It's been removed in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic).

I'm pretty sure the only way is to install 9.04 again.
