Dear Ashwin,

your description is a bit too unspecific. Please tell us wether you installed some software after OS installation or not. Also provide us with "uname -a" and an output of "dmesg|tail" and " tail -f /var/log/syslog" as well as the last 50 lines of your "~/.bashrc.

Thank You!

I get the same response and all I did after installation was to update my NVidia driver. Your allowed to enter the user name and password at a command prompt, but only in a terminal mode not through a GUI. After that it descibes any warranties associated with Ubuntu and takes one to another terminal prompt where it waits for some input. I've tried sudo start --help to no avail.

Updating garphics driver is a big thing indeed. Do you still have that problem?

Unfortunately I do not have the powers to change the state of this question to SOLVED, EXPIRED or INVALID. Someone here at Launchpad either grant me that permission or simply apply the change in state to this question, please.

Can you help with this problem?
