The desktop has no menus or bars!

Asked by dawn dschaak

I changed some settings and obviously choose the wrong one! It no longer asks me to log in and I just have a blank desktop. No menus or anything. I think I choose user defined but I didn't realize what that meant. Anyway, what I was trying to do didn't happen, because now I can't switch back because I can't see any menus. I have tried some of the other answers to similar problems, but they don't work. Please help. I'm tired, a blond, and just want to fix this. Thanks! :D

Oh I fixed it! I discovered that the alt and ctrl keys on the left of my keyboard are useless. Once I got the commands to work everything fell into place. Thank you Universe!
