upgraded to 11.04 and cant get past key log in

I had 10.? and upgraded to 11.4 Since then I can not get past the key log in. I know that the log in I have been using is correct, it is the only one it has ever had, but it tells me it is incorrect. I do not know if something went wrong in the upgrade or what to do to fix it.

Log in to gnome classic, if you use proprietary driver you can remove it then reinstall it to make things work
