whats the go with UGLY login screen?

Hav"nt used ubuntu for some time ,had 8.04? just upgraded to 10.04?.anyways compared to old load screen ,new load screen is shocking,horrible,offensive?. any help in changing this greatly appreciated

if you don't like it, then don't use it. there are lots of other distros out there that aren't as "shocking,horrible,offensive"

It is possible to change the theme/artwork in Ubuntu, but you'll have to provide more information about what you want to change. Do you want to change what it looks like when it's booting up (i.e. before the login screen is displayed), or do you want to change the appearance of the login screen itself? Or something else.

Please specify in detail what you want to do.

um,sorry marcus ,I didnot mean to to offend you but i found UB 8.04 which i did have a assetic load screen, and my mouse pointer worked which even better,why would it change.o.k. marcus while im updating why cant i choose a picture/photo for my start
