gdesklet- problem when opening a file

(im not really that knowledgeable with computers) i need help installing the files. i cant figure out what file to click.. after locating the file and then clicking it, isnt there like a pop up message that supposed to pop up?

inside the file there are other files and then there are icons that look like a piece of paper. some say install.

p.s. the problem is im trying to install starterbar. and i need some help on somehow getting that file on to gdesklets.

Instead of gdesklets, use Applications > Add/Remove > Search for: screenlets
Tick the checkbox next to "Screenlets" and press "Apply changes".

After it's installed, you can head to Applications > Accessories > Screenlets and configure your "desktop applets" :)
