Gnome Docks Question

Asked by Nayef Copty

Hi

I need a dock for GNOME that will have both, launchers + current open applications, just like the Mac OSX dock.

I am using the gdesklets dock, its great, but it doesnt show the current open applications. I downloaded Engage but I couldn't figure out how to put application launchers there (drag'n'drop)

Please help me

Thanks,

I think what you need/want is the kiba dock. It compiles from CVS fine on Edgy,

Here's a video of it in action:

I don't know exactly what your running, but if you have a working 3d card, then your in good shape. Feel free to read more here:

I run on Dapper, and I have a 3D card.

Does kiba dock have application launcher + a system tray thing were applications that are open are shown? Or only application launcher?

Its focus is on the application launcher, but it can be configured to show the status ofthe programs it launches.
