desklet of gdesklet on one corner of screen only

Asked by Gary Mercado

hi,
i installed gdesklet as replacement of screenlets that frequently crash lately,
but when i ran gdesklet , any desklet will appear on upper left corner of the screen only,
i followed the instruction on moving it, use different mouse to move it but it won't change place.
all appear in one place only..
how will i move those desklets around my screen?
thanks again for help..

Not sure if that helps, but you could try via gconf-editor to verify focus mode.
/apps/metacity/general/focus_new_windows = smart

Compiz plugins allow to give a window postition and size rules.

hi Sam.
thanks for reply.
i did tried to search it from gconfig before posting the question, but i forgot to mention that i did not find
gdesklet on gconfig editor, unlike the "screenlets ". which is there even after i uninstalled.
as for /apps/metacity/general/focus_new_windows = smart,, ( no changes ) as it is..

lately i found a way to move but a little tricky..here's how
first,
open gdesklet, on file tab, click to select any desklet (clock )
clock appears on screen, right click and select move,
click again clock (any part), then right click again clock to restart
clock disappear and appear, click again clock and another right click to select move.
then the clock moves along with the cursor..

so many clicks just to move that tiny clock...
then i tried , cpu monitor by kevin kane, someone by that name.
same technique to move the selected gdesklet.
and for all the gdesklet that are available same procedure.
it took me few seconds to move it but 10 hours to figure-out.. ha ha ha
is there any easier way ?

there are also some gdesklet which failed to run..
i can't remember all but it gave me an error..

thanks for reply..
