GCompris crops off top and bottom of window

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, with the edubuntu packages added on. WhenI run GCompris, the top and bottom of the window is cropped off and not visible. This is true regardless of whether I run it at full screen or in a window, and whether or not I enable zoom, so it doesn't seem as through the desktop resolution itself is the problem . Any ideas?

Nevermind -- that's apparently how it's supposed to look. It looks cropped to me, but I found some screenshots, and that's the style they're going for!
