Asked by Hubert McIntyre

Hello I'm a newbie at linux and very tired of windows I want to program c++ using Kubuntu 11 I need to know if there is a compiler in the Kubuntu 11 or how am I to proceed to send my text code to a compatible compiler for this new program. Which one would that be? Please reply

I Also have the book "C++ for linux in 21 days" would the code examples still work for the new Kubuntu 11

compiler? I wonder, because its from April 2000.

Try installing the package called 'build-essential'. Then you should have the gcc and g++ compilers, 'make', and some basic development libraries.

Can you help with this problem?
