gambas2 package

running gambas2, how?

I installed Gambas2 from the repros and it seemed to install okay. It shows up in the applications. When I go to Applications then Gambis2 and click on it, it appears to be loading (the little rotating circle activates for a few seconds) but then just a blank screen appears. Am I not doing something I should or am I doing something I should not do? What should I expect to happen? Thanks

Still no answer to this question so I googled Gambas2+ubuntu and found a number of comments most of which I do not know enough about Ubuntu to properly do but; I found some comments that lead me to believe that Gambis2 will only work on a 386 platform in ubuntu. I am on an AMD machine. Is that my problem perhaps?

I have removed this program from the applications. May try it later but am not able to devote the time to solving the problem right now.
