I cant "direct connect" to people on aim ?

i cant send pics through the im window it just stalls when trying to connect to someone. i dont know if this can be a firewall issue or even where to find the firewall settings i am kinda new to Ubuntu and i curently have UbuntuStudio installed and the latest gaim. someone who is nice can you please help me thanks :)

AIM uses port 5190 for direct connect. You will have to forward this port in your router/firewall to your computer.

A good place to look find out how to forward ports on your equipment would be http://portforward.com/routers.htm
