ubuntu edgy eft: navigation problem:work-related:editor sent me a poetry layout of my book in pdf. i only have adobe reader so couldn't edit 474 k file;I copied to abiwrd and to the 2.0 open office but lost the editorial changes as one of the apps aligned everthing left. no illust blkwhite copied over either.there is a simple solution but i am missing something need to edit directly the pdf file layout on screen

editor sent me poetry book in pdf and came up on screen. i have adobe reader only, copied to abiword and to open office 2.0 and everything in off 2.0 word was aligned left and no illust in blk and white came over from pdf. abi had the page centered and no section breaks no section brks in off.2.0 either. anyway I can dup format of adobe style pdf with software on machine or avail so i can edit what i see on screen in pdf?

it just flashed that I might cut and paste instead of copy and get the pdf with illust integral to abiword?that way? hmmmm

I read the other day that KOffice can import PDF files - maybe you should try that?

hey right on, I am such a beginner, both responses were worth lookin' at and are truly clear and concise community generating helpful answers. I am already less shy and altho not a ubuntu tigre, i may be on my way.
