Is there any plan to update to a later version of frontaccounting? 2.2.10 is a very old release.

I suggest you report a bug. The fact that it is "old" is quite trivial. If there are no security issues or large bugs it will not be updated. Your bug will alert the devs that it is quite old and may need attention even if not to only check that an update is or is not needed.
