How to install game data?

Asked by Shane Pearlman

I am working on installing FreeSpace2 via the package in the repos... I am looking at an old thread from fs2 forum:
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=71402.0

I was wondering where I'm supposed to put the game data. I've tried putting it in /usr/share/games/freespace2-open and tried putting it in the gog package subdir (along with the setup exe file).

How is this supposed to work?

Mint is not supported here or in any of the Ubuntu support channels. Mint has it's own support channels and forums that are entirely separate from Ubuntu's. I suggest you post here:
http://forums.linuxmint.com

Can you help with this problem?
