Which version of FreeiPA will ship with Bionic?

Asked by dh

Hi there,

Will the version of freeipa would be bumped to 4.5 for the Bionic release?
Their mailing lists shows that installing the 4.4 series has potentially left me (and others ) in a rather vulnerable situation (broken CA renewals) due to package availability and this should be remedied in 4.5.

See update from Peter Fern from Dec 2nd. At https://<email address hidden>/thread/XCIKU3UB3WFAGIN3YV7F57HBYPK2QT2L/

Apologies if I've misunderstood,

David

https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=FreeiPA&searchon=names&suite=bionic&section=all

Shows 4.4.4

Bionic isn't even in the Alpha 1 stage so this may change. There is a lot of development and work to be done and nothing is set in stone. They don't even have a stone yet.

There is a package freeze waaaaay in the future (see release schedule for details) and that version will then ship

Ubuntu is copying some of the packages from Debian, and as far as I can see, also Debian sid has only version 4.4.4
Maybe the better way is requesting that Debian upgrades to 4.5.*, and Ubuntu will then probably follow.

Can you help with this problem?
