HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn printer problem

Spent hours downloading HPLIP on 2015/01/30. All steps ok until the final step. Then error messages: "/home/xxx/.hplip/hplip-3.14.10.run does not match its checksum. file may have been corrupted or altered." This followed option to Download and install the plug-in from HP.

The HPLASERJET 1606 has a power off/ power down function. I haven't been able to get it to work for years. I am running Ubuntu 14.10 on a HP laptop with no other problems.

I suggest you contact the hplip guys to advise. I have seen this a few times recently

Thank you very much. I haven't been able to print from my Ubuntu for years. Works duplex too.
