Flite For ARM S3C6410?

Asked by celtica96

Are there any plans to port Flite and related libraries to the ARM S3C6410?

This processor is found in the SmartQ 5 & 7 tablets (made by www.smartdevices.com.cn) and they run a version of Ubuntu Linux.

A port of Flite would help make these inexpensive MIDs into portable eBook Readers for those with disabilities.

I've been able to answer my own question at least as far as getting Flite to run on the SmartQ 7.

I installed libflite1_1.2-release-2.2build1_arm.deb first and then flite_1.2-release-2.2build1_arm.deb from repository.handhelds.org using the GDebi Package Installer on the SmartQ 7 Internet Tablet.

Flite works as advertised and I'm grateful to the folks at CMU for this application.
