Note about removal of flashybrid package │
│ │
│ Please be warned, this package changes the way your system behaves in a really intrusive way. This package is not enabled by default │
│ so it should not make any problems by just installing it. If you want to enable it, please read the documentation. │
│ │
│ If you want to remove this package, you should first disable it, boot the machine, and ONLY WHEN THE MACHINE HAS BEEN REBOOTED │
│ WITHOUT FLASHYBRID RUNNING YOU CAN REMOVE THE PACKAGE ITSELF. If you do not to do it this way, you can potentially lose data (things │
│ like configuration files in /etc/ will not get synced to the real drive, stay only in the tmpfs and lost on reboot). │
│ │

No option and must exit terminal.

Nothing is open or running or installing...nothing.......... compiz is off

So again I will ask....how do I disable this flashybrid so I can remove this package

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

In order to disable flashybrid run the following in the terminal:

sudo gedit /etc/default/flashybrid

Change enabled to 0, save and close. Then reboot your system. When your system boots back up, open terminal and run:

sudo apt-get remove flashybrid

You then should be able to run synaptic.

Thanks! I have not enabled Flashybird yet.
sudo gedit /etc/default/flashybrid gave empty file..
So ... So I just uninstalled it.
 sudo apt-get remove flashybrid

hope it wasn't enabled when it installed .
I do not Know where it cam from , i was running upgrades via aptitude, came back and warning above was on..
I( did NOT want Flashybrid or a flashybird or no such crazy thing, it appeared by itself somehow and was installed when I came back to my computer, which is WEIRD, I have never had anything similar happen before or understand HOW it did this time.)
I will reboot and hope for the best.....
