Installing the Flash plugin (I guess you are talking about the plugin?) is a FAQ; you will find many suggestions in the links there.

Overall, there is no way to answer your question: what is your actual problem (you mean "installing the flash plugin for Firefox?), what you have tried and does not work, etc.
FAQ #60: “Installing adobe flash player”.

Thank you for your response.
Have tried all suggestions in the FAQ with no results.
tried downloading from Adobe web page...
tried sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree...
tried sudo aptitude install ubuntu-restricted-extras...
all attempts load with no error messages, but still can not get video to work.
also no results with gnash.
any further help would be appreciated
thanks again,
Maxim Simicich

Have you tried to remove everything (including gnash) and reinstall flashplugin-nonfree? I remember I experienced the same kind of things when I tried gnash, and Firefox kept on trying gnash (which did not work) even when adobe plugin was installed. The fix was to remove gnash, and then Firefox was able to find adobe flash plugin.
