im mad as hell firefox beta 3 ver? 5 does not play videos online im about to give up on linux ubuntu 7.10 was better

I downloaded and installed ubuntu hardy 8.04 and the firefox 3 beta 5 is having problems playing online videos such as Youtube, watch movies.com, and other video sites, i have lost the whole day trying to find the fix i am so depress over this i wanted to watch some movies on line but I had no problems with videos using the older version of firefox on ubuntu 7.10, i did not want to use any program that is beta i do not want to be a tester, what the hell.....

I am assuming you mean 'flash videos'. Can you provide more details about which videos do not play? Have you read: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/Flash

I'm having the same issue, and the video may not be just flash either. but it is crashing everytime I'm trying to look at a youtube page, any of them for that matter. I think it may be looking at the scripting for media stuff and crashes.

We need alot more info from everyone on this case. Can you please attahc
a copy of the page about:plugins also need websites that cause this if
you each can provide 3 websites that you see this issue on maybe we can
than try to reproduce this. are you both using AMD64?

NOTE: This might be the swfdec crash that ive seen in other bug reports.
