Firefox freezes for several seconds when right-click or any drop down menu is activated

Asked by Tor Djärv

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. Firefox have previously been working perfectly until this very morning, when suddenly it have started to freeze for several seconds when any drop down menu or the right-click menu is activated. I have tried to restart the computer, reinstall FF, uninstall FF and install it again, I have tried to download the latest version of it from Mozillas hompage (but I could not manage it to launch at all) and I have tried the experimental PPA for getting the latest version but it still freezes when right-click or any drop down menu is activated.
The problem seams to be isolated to Firefox and I have no such problems in other programs.
Please help me, I don't want to be stuck with this horrible thing called Chrome.

It turned out that it was the flashplugin that was the problem, so I deinstalled and then rebooted, then Firefox worked without problems, and then I reinstalled the flashplugin and now it works agian.
