As you know, Oneiric is the development version of Ubuntu and bugs are expected. Since you have posted a question here rather than filing a bug, I will assume you do want help investigating and troubleshooting this problem before reporting a bug (or that you are not sure whether or not this is a bug, which comes down to the same thing in terms of the steps that I will suggest you follow).

First, as Oneiric is rapidly changing, I recommend you update all the software installed on your Ubuntu system (you can use the Update Manager for this), then restart your computer, and see if the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't fix the problem, then please post a reply with the following information:

(1) Do you get sound in other applications, or do you have no sound at all on your Oneiric system?

(2) Are you using Firefox, or some other browser?

(3) Does the problem occur in another web browser? (If you are using Firefox, you could try Chromium, which you can get by installing the package called chromium-browser in the Software Center.)

(4) Does the problem occur in another user account? If you only have one user account, you can create a second one for testing purposes.

(5) What is the output of this command, run in the Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T to open a Terminal window, then copy the command from your web browser, paste it into the Terminal, press enter to run it, then do Edit > Select All to select all the text in the Terminal, do Edit > Copy to copy it all to the clipboard, then paste it into your post here):

lsb_release -a; dpkg -l | egrep 'flash|gnash|swf|lightspark'

Are you still experiencing this problem? If so, can you provide the information I have requested (post #1 at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+question/169766).

Your problem may be different from the problem here. I recommend posting a new question about your problem. You can post a link to it here to make sure that I see it, and you can also post a link to this question in your new question, in case your problem and christalblueangel's problem turn out to be the same. This will probably get you the fastest support. Please make sure to include a complete description of the problem you're experiencing, in your new question.

@christalblueangel
Are you still experiencing this problem? If you solved it, do you know how it got fixed? If you still have the problem, do you still want help?

Hi there,

I tested some more and i had it wrong, the no sound only happend on Flash movies, by removing flash player and installing the native x64 player from adobe.com my soudn worked again.

There was no way i could get the build in Ubuntu 11.10 flash player playing sound on flash movies.

I'm deeply sorry for cuasing confusion.

If you want to try to get the version of Flash provided through Ubuntu's package manager to work, please feel free to post a new question about that. (If you use this link, then that particular question will start out properly classified: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+addquestion)

Please post a new question about your problem (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+addquestion). Feel free to post a link to your new question here, and to post a link in your new question to this question. If you like you can also subscribe me to the new question. However, the problem you are experiencing is likely different from the problem that has been discussed here. In your new question, please give examples of sites where you have the problem, including at least one site that does use Flash and at least one that does not. Please also try those sites with another browser besides Firefox, and report whether or not sound worked in the other browser, as well as what browser it was. Please also see if the problem occurs if you log in to your Ubuntu system with a different user account (if you only have one account, you can create a second one for testing purposes). If you have any problems providing any of that information, please go ahead and post about that in your new question, rather than here.
