It will install the flash plugin, restart the browser and you will have flash

It looks like you don't have any Flash plugins installed. You can install Flash by installing the package flashplugin-installer. One way to do this is in the Software Center. Or, if you prefer the Terminal, you can do it by running this command:

Try:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

The problem seems to be that you do not have the multiverse component enabled. This is easily fixed.

Open the Update Manager, click Settings... on the lower-left corner of the window, and check the box labeled "Software restricted by copyright or legal issues (multiverse)". Then click Close. Then run this command in the Terminal, and you should be good to go:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer

Is that bad news?
